MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – Northwestern hits the road for its final away game of the season on Thursday night as the Wildcats travel to Minnesota to face off against the Golden Gophers.

On Sunday night, the Wildcats fell to #21 Wisconsin, 68-51, at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Boo Buie led the way with a game-high 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting. It marked Buie's highest scoring output since scoring 30 points against Michigan State on Dec. 20 on his way to claiming Big Ten Player of the Week honors.
This will be the first meeting of the season between Minnesota and Northwestern. The Gophers and the Wildcats met three times last season, with Minnesota claiming a victory in each matchup. These teams most recently met in
the first round of the 2020 Big Ten Tournament on March 11, 2020 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in a 74-57 victory for the Gophers. Pete Nance led the Wildcats with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting (3-5 from deep) in the game.
Tip-off is scheduled for 8 pm CT, with coverage live on Big Ten Network and ESPN 1000 AM.

  2. The Wildcats have set a new single-season program record this season, having played 12 ranked opponents on the year.
  3. The 'Cats currently rank 27th in the nation with a 1.33 assist-to-turnover ratio, while their 11.3 turnovers per game also ranks in the Top-40 fewest in the nation.
  4. Chase Audige has made a compelling case for a spot on the All-Big Ten Defensive Team this season. The redshirt sophomore leads all Big Ten players with 27 steals in conference play this season.
