'Cats Finish Middle of the Pack at the Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. - The Wildcats placed 12th out of the 24 teams that participated in the 3-round tournament. James Imai, Varun Chopra, and David Nyfjäll led the 'Cats all tying for 44th, finishing six-over.
Graduate transfer Varun Chopra and senior Eric McIntosh started strong, both finishing even with par after the first round. Northwestern finished the first round eight over par and tied for 16th.
A strong second day from top to bottom propelled NU into ninth. Sophomore James Imai finished one-under, tying the lowest round of his career. First-year Chris Zhang picked up the first par round of his Northwestern career.
Zhang also tied for third best performance on par five holes in the tournament, averaging 4.56 strokes per hole.
Next up for Chicago's Big Ten Team is the Spartan Collegiate in Sea Island, Georgia. The two-day tournament will run March 8-9.
