EVANSTON, Ill. – The Wildcats will travel all over Indiana this week for two Big Ten matchups. First they will face Purdue in West Lafayette on Wednesday at 6 p.m. before traveling to Bloomington on Saturday for a 3 p.m. match-up against Indiana.
Northwestern is coming off a strong performance against Iowa, taking down the Hawkeyes 3-1. Temi Thomas-Ailara once again led the Wildcat offense at the net, putting down a game high 14 kills and four blocks. Leilani Dodson followed close behind with 12 kills and a whopping five blocks, her highest total in Big Ten play so far this season.
Thomas-Ailara was also a force from the service line with three aces, just behind Megan Miller's team-leading four. As usual, Miller has continued to lead Northwestern's defense, coming up with 12 digs against the Hawkeyes.
The 'Cats will face the No. 12 Boilermakers for the first time this season and look to present a strong challenge after taking four sets off several top-15 opponents so far this season. The Hoosiers and the Wildcats will see each other for the first time in two years after their matchups last season were postponed.
