EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern travels to Madison on Tuesday for a conference battle with Wisconsin. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. CT and will be televised on Big Ten Network.
The Wildcats sit at 4-7-2 on the season after a tough 2-1 loss against Rutgers on Friday. The 'Cats held firm with a strong Rutgers team through 80 minutes, but conceded a late goal to break the deadlock.
Rom Brown scored his second goal of the season on Friday, joining Vicente Castro and Justin Weiss as the only three Wildcats with at least two goals and two assists this season. Brown was assisted by Spencer Farina and Bardia Kimiavi, bringing the 'Cats' season assist total up to 16.
Wisconsin is 7-3-3 on the season and sits in a tie for third place in the Big Ten with a 3-1-1 conference record. The Badgers are unbeaten in their past five games in Madison.
Northwestern tied Wisconsin in a double-overtime battle last season at Ryan Fieldhouse, behind a six-save effort from Ethan Bandre. In a COVID-19 scheduling quirk, the 'Cats faced the Badgers twice last season and won 5-2 in Madison with goals from Logan Weaver, Spencer Howard and Richie Bennett. Before that, the last three matchups between the two sides have either ended in a tie or gone to double-overtime.
