EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern welcomes Rutgers to Ryan Field on Saturday morning at 11 am as part of the Wildcats' 2021 Homecoming Weekend.

Fans can tune in on the Big Ten Network or listen to WGN Radio AM-720 to hear Dave Eanet, Ted Albrecht and Mark Carman call the game.

The Wildcats are coming off a road setback to Nebraska, but claimed a 35-6 victory over Ohio in their last outing at Ryan Field. Northwestern last played the Scarlet Knights in 2018 in their only conference matchup in the history of both programs, winning 18-15 at Rutgers.

Storylines:

Five games into the 2021 season, Northwestern features the Big Ten's leader in total tackles (Chris Bergin - 53 tackles) and third-leading rusher (Evan Hull - 101.8 yards per game).
Stephon Robinson Jr. is averaging 4.6 receptions per game, the ninth highest total by a Big Ten receiver this season.
Northwestern has asserted themselves on Special Teams this season, averaging 23.11 punt return yards per game, good for 2nd in the Big Ten and 3rd nationally.
The Wildcat defense has recovered 6 fumbles this season … the 1.2 fumbles recovered per game leads the Big Ten and ranks 7th nationally.
Northwestern won the only conference matchup against Rutgers in 2018. In the 2018 matchup, the Wildcat defense dominated the game, holding the Scarlet Knights to a mere 188 total yards and forcing nine punts. The offense had their third different 100+ rusher of the season.
Northwestern will be recognizing the 1995 and 1996 football teams, who claimed back-to-back Big Ten championships under head coach Gary Barnett.
