No. 3 Wildcats Take Down Sun Devils

EVANSTON, Ill. - No. 3 Northwestern swept Arizona State, 28-12, Sunday afternoon at Ryan-Fieldhouse after receiving their 2019 Big Ten Champion rings alongside class of 2019 alumni.
While matching a career high of two goals, junior Brennan Dwyer smashed through the previous program-record of draw controls within a single game set in 2017 by Assistant Coach Shelby Fredericks, with 21 controls for the 'Cats.
Senior Megan Kinna opened up scoring within a minute of the first half and junior Lauren Gilbert came onto the field firing, matching her career high with five goals just in the first half. She led the team in goals and assists with three. Senior Lindsey McKone and sophomore Izzy Scane followed behind with three goals apiece.
12 'Cats found the back of the net and the Wildcats blew out the first half with 23, the most points ever scored in a single half under Combe Family Head Coach Kelly Amonte Hiller.
The 'Cats continued their dominance in the second half, with first-years Dylan Amonte and Kiera Shanley adding goals to the scoreboard. Northwestern show-cased their young talent, with five first-years putting the ball between the pipes.
Northwestern is staying home for their next match-up with No. 4 Syracuse, Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Ryan Fieldhouse.
