Northwestern Resumes Big Ten Play At Minnesota Sunday Night

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern will resume Big Ten play on Sunday, Jan. 5 as the Wildcats travel to Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Williams Arena and wil be broadcasted on on Big Ten Network. Fans can also tune in to ESPN 1000.
Last time out, Sophomore Miller Kopp led all scorers with a career-high 24 points. It was the second time this season and third time in his career he has led NU in the scoring column. Boo Buie and Ryan Young each tallied 14 points in the effort. It was Buie's third-straight game scoring in double figures and Young's fourth time in six games. Northwestern had a season-low five turnovers in the effort. It was only the 10th time in the Collins era that NU had five or fewer turnovers in a game.
Sunday marks the 177th meeting between the Wildcats and the Golden Gophers. Chris Collins' Northwestern teams are a perfect 4-0 at The Barn. Three of the four games have been decided by fewer than 10 points. NU's four straight wins in Minneapolis mark the Wildcats' longest active road winning streak against a Big Ten opponent.
STORYLINES
Back to Big Ten: Boo Buie is averaging a team-best 16.0 points per game in league play, while Pete Nance owns a 14.0 mark.
Neat Note: NU is the lone B1G program to have two rookies averaging double figures (Buie 10.8, Young 10.8).
Miller Time: Miller Kopp has emerged as one of Northwestern's true scoring threats this season. The Houston, TX. native scored a total of 157 points in 32 games last year as a rookie and Already has 151 points scored in 12 games this season.
