NU Hits the Road for ACC Doubleheader

Louisville, KY- Northwestern goes on the road this Friday for the first time since starting dual matches this season, making the trip southeast to square off with Louisville in Kentucky. The Wildcats went 3-1 during their home stand and are coming off a tri-dual match with Memphis and IUPUI, winning both matches 4-2 and 4-0 respectively.
Louisville sits at 5-1 overall, boasting 5 straight wins to start the season including a 4-3 victory over #10 Virginia, but are coming off a 1-4 loss to #5 Baylor last Sunday. Northwestern and Louisville have met every season since 2016, with the 'Cats leading the series 3-1 in that stretch and having won last year's meeting 4-3.
Sophomore Steven Forman, senior Dominik Stary and Junior Nick Brookes will look to continue their domination in singles competition against the Cardinals. In the top three spots, Brookes remains unbeaten while Forman and Stary have each only dropped one singles matchup.
In doubles, the combination of Brookes and sophomore Simen Bratholm is coming off a resilient performance against Memphis and IUPUI, scoring wins in the one spot against both schools. Down 1-4 early against the #21 pair of David Stevenson and Oscar Cutting from Memphis, Brookes and Bratholm battled back to steal a 7-5 victory.
After taking on Louisville, Northwestern will stay on the road for matches with Duke, Kentucky and Oklahoma State, before coming back to Evanston to host Vanderbilt on Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. CT.
