Louisville, KY – After a 4-0 win over IUPUI two Sundays ago, Northwestern Men's Tennis battled their way to a 4-1 win over Louisville on Friday afternoon.
After winning the doubles point with wins from the teams of Chris Ephron/Dominik Stary and Natan Spear/Steven Forman, Northwestern entered singles competition with a strong start. Winning two of the first three matches at No. 6, Simen Bratholm won the first singles set of the afternoon with a commanding 6-1, 6-4 win. At No. 4 singles,
At No. 2, Steven Forman pounced on his opponent grabbing an impressive 6-2 victory first set and secured the third point for the 'Cats with a 6-2, 6-4 finish over his opponent Sergio Hernandez. Junior Nick Brookes clinched the match for NU, with a dominant 6-1, 6-4 win over Louisville's Matthew Fung.
The 'Cats continue their road trip on Sunday, February 2 against Duke. That match is set for 12 p.m. in Durham, NC.
