‘Cats Clip Blue Jays with Dominant Second Half, 20-13

BALTIMORE, MD – Led by Claire Quinn's career high five goals, Northwestern extends their win streak to five games after taking down #16 Johns Hopkins, 20-13.
The Blue Jays jumped out to an early lead, but Quinn quickly responded with her first goal of the day to tie the game at one a piece. After trading two more goals, Hopkins went on a four-goal run, bringing the score to 6-2. With just over ten mintues left in the half. senior Selena Lasota, first-year Izzy Scane and junior Lindsey McKone each scored their first goals of the game to cut the Blue Jay's lead to one going into halftime.
After a Johns Hopkins goal coming out of the half, back to back draw controls by Brennan Dwyer led to two unanswered goals from Lauren Gilbert early in the second to tie the game up at seven. After an second goal from Hopkin's Aurora Cordingley, the Wildcats went on a 6-0 run with goals from Scane, Liza Elder, Quinn and Jill Girardi to extend their lead to 13-8 with just over 16 minutes left in play.
After trading goals over the next six minutes, Northwestern went on a four-goal run to go up eight goals and claim their third Big Ten win of the season.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will be back on the field April 11 to take on No. 2 Maryland at Martin Stadium at 7 pm.
