‘Cats Fall in Ann Arbor, 5-2

ANN ARBOR, MI – Friday afternoon, Northwestern fell to No. 20 Michigan, 5-2.
 
The Wildcats started out strong, with a win at No. 1 doubles from juniors Chris Ephron and Dominik Stary. The duo defeated Harrison Brown and Mattias Siimar, 6-4, but U of M took the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles points to clinch the first point of the match.
 
In singles play, the Wolverines took the first three points at No. 2,6 and 5 singles to go up 4-0, but Stary fought back to give the Wildcats their first point of the day. The junior defeated No. 98 Andrew Fenty in the No.1 singles position in three sets, 5-7, 6-4, 10-3. At No. 4 singles, Simen Bratholm also dropped his opponent Connor Johnson in three sets, 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 to give NU a 5-2 finish.
 
The 'Cats will be back on the court Sunday afternoon at noon in East Lansing to take on Michigan State.
