‘Cats Gear Up for B1G Doubleheader

EVANSTON, Ill. – This weekend, Northwestern will face off against two Big Ten teams, No. 41 Iowa on Saturday and Nebraska on Sunday.
The Wildcats will be back on the court after a short break, following a 4-0 victory over UIC. Against the flames, the 'Cats took the first point of the match with wins from the doubles teams of No. 28 ranked Nick Brookes/ Simen Bratholm and Michael Lorenzini/ Jason Seidman. In singles play at the No. 2 position, Antonioni Fasano defeated Niko Wasilewicz 6-3, 6-0. No. 3 signles, Chris Ephron downed Casper Parlklo 6-2,6-0 to secure the third point and Bratholm clinched the match for the #B1GCats with a swift 6-1, 6-3 defeat of K. Panchapakesan.
The Hawkeyes are coming off a two-match win streak, defeating both Wisconsin and #18 Minnesota, 4-3. Iowa currently has a 12-4 dual record and is 3-0 in Big Ten play.
Nebraska (9-9, 1-2 B1G) is set to take on #14 Illinois on Friday afternoon before heading to Evanston to face the Wildcats. The Cornhuskers are also coming off a two-match win streak, defeating Loyola Marymount and #18 Minnesota, 4-3.
Northwestern will face off against Iowa on Saturday afternoon at Combe Tennis Center starting at noon and will be back Sunday at noon to take on Nebraska.
