Wildcats Dominate Iowa, 6-1

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern dominated Iowa in their second Big Ten win of the season.
With wins from the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions, the Hawkeyes claimed the first point of the match, but the Wildcats responded by going 6-0 in singles play to finish the match, 6-1.
Sophomore Antonioni Fasano took the first point of singles play, defeating Oliver Okonkwo at the No. 2 singles position. Fasano made quick work of his opponent, defeating Okonkow 6-2, 6-1. On court four, first-year Simen Bratholm secured the second point for the 'Cats, defeating Joe Tyler in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
To secured the third point of the match, senior Jason Seidman defeated Iowa's Jason Kerst, 6-0, 6-3 to bring the 'Cats within one. In the No. 2 position, junior Chris Ephron clinched the match for the 'Cats with a 6-4, 6-0 sweep of Jonas Larsen.
Junior Dominik Stary defeated Kareem Allaf in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2 to give the Wildcats a four point lead going into the final set. To punctuate the Wildcats' second Big Ten win of the season, Trice Pickens took down Will Davies in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 10-6.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will be back in action tomorrow afternoon at Combe Tennis Center to take on Nebraska at noon.
