EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will head to Piscataway, NJ to take on Rutgers in its first Big Ten matchup of the season. The Wildcats and the Scarlet Knights will take the field on Thursday, March 14, at 6 p.m. CT. at Highpoint.com Stadium
In last weeks game against Boston College, senior Selena Lasota led the 'Cats with five goals against No. 1 Boston College. Lasota is now only five goals away from breaking into the NCAA top-30 all-time goals list and is second among all active players in career goals and points.
The Wildcats are 11-0 all time against the Scarlet Knights, with a 19-7 NU win in the last meeting in 2018.
Northwestern begins a two-game road stretch at Rutgers followed by a Big East matchup at Marquette on March 23.
B1G LEAD
The Wildcats lead the Big Ten in draw control per game (15.86), points per game (25.14), scoring offense (17.86) and shot percentage (.530) through seven games.
HOT STREAK
Sophomores Lindsey McKone and Lauren Gilbert have each scored at least one goal in the seven games this season. McKone and Gilbert have totaled 15 and 18 goals respectively.
BACK TO MARTIN
The 'Cats will be back on Martin Stadium for their first outdoors game on March 28 at 6pm against No. 6 Penn.
LASOTA GOAL WATCH
Senior Selena Lasota is only 5 goals away from making it onto the NCAA Women's Lacrosse all-time goals list. She currently has 215 career scores , and only needs to reach 225 to make it into the top 30. Lasota is second among all active players for career points and goals.
DWYER ON THE DRAW
Sophomore Brennan Dwyer has 48 draw controls through the first seven games of the season. She is currently No. 11 in the NCAA for average draw controls per game with 6.86. She is ranked second among all sophomores and leads the Big Ten.
RACK EM' UP
The 'Cats have scored 125 goals through their first seven games. The Wildcats are ranked No. 4 in the country in scoring offense, averaging 17.86 goals per game and fifth in points per game. NU has five student- athletes with double digit goals this season, Lauren Gilbert (21), Selena Lasota (18), Lindsey McKone (15), Claire Quinn (13) and Izzy Scane (10).
KRUPNICK LOCKDOWN
Goalkeeper Julie Krupnick made 16 saves to set the single-game program record and help the #B1GCats lock down a win against Dartmouth.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
Senior attacker Selena Lasota and redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Julie Krupnick were named to the 2019 IWLCA preseason All-American team. Lasota earned first team honors and Krupnick was honorable mention.
