'Cats Head to Chapel Hill to Take on No. 3 Tar Heels

EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 5 Northwestern will head to Chapel Hill to face off against the third-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels for their third ACC matchup of the season.
The Wildcats are coming off last weekend where they played back-to-back days. After falling to No. 7 Syracuse 15-14 in a thrilling-overtime affair on Sunday, the 'Cats rebounded with a dominant 20-6 win over Canisius on Monday. NU remains in the top 10 in the national rankings, landing fifth in both the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and IWLCA Coaches Poll and ninth in the Nike/US Lacrosse Magazine poll.
NU and UNC are set to take the field Saturday afternoon at 11:30 CT at the UNC Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium.
GILBERT WITH THE GOALS
Sophomore Lauren Gilbert is on a five game multi-goal streak. Gilbert has racked up 16 goals so far this season which ties her for 10th in the NCAA and third among all sophomores.
DEPENDABLE DUO
The 'Cats have two players that have scored in all five games this season. Lauren Gilbert and Lindsey McKone have scored in each game and have totaled 16 and 11 goals, respectively.
LASOTA GOAL WATCH
With three goals in the 20-6 win over Canisius, senior Selena Lasota is now only 11 goals away from making it onto the NCAA Women's Lacrosse all-time goals list. She currently sits just outside the top 30 with 214 , and only needs to reach 225 to make her way into the record book.
DWYER ON THE DRAW
Sophomore Brennan Dwyer has tallied 34 draw controls through the first five games this season. She is currently No. 11 in the NCAA for average draw controls per game with 6.80. She is ranked fourth among all sophomores and is leading the Big Ten.
KRUPNICK LOCKDOWN
Goalkeeper Julie Krupnick made 16 saves to set the single-game program record and help the #B1GCats lock down a win against Dartmouth. With her performance in the Syracuse game, Krupnick broke the 200 saves barrier and now has 204 career saves. She is ranked 15th in the NCAA in saves and is in the Top 25, averaging 10.5 saves per game.
RACK EM' UP
The 'Cats have scored 97 goals through their first five games. The Wildcats are ranked No. 2 in the country in scoring offense, averaging 19.40 goals per game and fifth in points per game.
A HILLER DYNASTY
2019 marks Coach Amonte Hiller's 18th season as the head coach of the Wildcats, which is the second most among active Big Ten coaches. In her time, the 'Cats have gone 283-73 overall and amassed a 78-24 record in conference play. Amonte Hiller has also taken Northwestern to the NCAA tournament for 15 consecutive seasons.
