EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern returns home to face Rutgers at the new Welsh-Ryan Arena on Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CT.

The Wildcats enter the game with a 9-4 record at home this season and the Wildcats will play five of their last eight games on their home hardwood. Senior forward Vic Law dominated the last time out against No. 20 Iowa, recording 24 points and 10 rebounds — his fourth double-double of the season.

Rutgers holds a 11-12 record this campaign and has managed only one road win in conference play. Northwestern holds a 10-2 all-time series advantage over Rutgers and won their previous matchup this season, defeating the Scarlet Knights, 65-57, behind 17 points from senior center Dererk Pardon on January 18 in Piscataway.

STORYLINES TO WATCH

PARDON THE DOMINATION: In five career games versus Rutgers, senior Dererk Pardon averages 11 points, eight rebounds and three blocks while shooting over 65 percent from the field. These averages include game highs of 17 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocks against the Scarlet Knights.

PRIOR RETURNS: Since the Scarlet Knights joined the Big Ten in 2014, the Wildcats have a 6-1 record with the only loss coming on the road in overtime last year. Northwestern averages over 70 points per game in these contests, while limiting Rutgers to 59 points per game.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE: In their first seasons as Wildcats, transfers A.J. Turner and Ryan Taylor have proved to be key contributors to the starting lineup. Combined, they average almost 20 points, nearly three three pointers made per game, and over four assists per game, while shooting 83 percent from the charity stripe.

QUOTABLES

"All things considered, we had three seconds and one chance to get a stop to win the game. I thought we played our tails off tonight and battled against a really good team. To come up short the way we did is a tough feeling."
-- Sullivan-Ubben Head Men's Basketball Coach Chris Collins on performance vs. Iowa

"I love the way he approached this week, keeping a good attitude and putting in so much work. I thought he played a high-level game tonight, rebounding and shooting effectively, while also being a playmaker. It was good to see him back playing to his capabilities."
-- Collins on Vic Law's mindset
