Kopp, Buie Lead 'Cats in Road Win At Boston College, 82-64

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Northwestern took down Boston College, 82-64, Tuesday evening in the B1G/ACC Challenge matchup.
 
The Wildcats shot 58.2% (32-for-55) from the field and the Eagles finished the contest 26-for-58 (44.8%) from the floor. First year Boo Buie and sophomore Miller Kopp each scored a career-high 20 points to lead the 'Cats. Ryan Young also finished in double figures with 12 on 6-for-7 shooting.

Buie had a breakout game, notching double figures in his second-straight contest. He was extremely efficient from the field hitting eight of his nine shots. Kopp finished the night with zero turnovers and hit a career-high four three pointers. 

The 'Cats were aggressive on the glass, outrebounding Boston College 38 to 21 marking the largest rebounding margin Northwestern has achieved all season. Pete Nance led all players with six boards.
 
Defense was the Wildcats' storyline in the first half as the Eagles shot under 40% from the field, while being held to 3-for-13 from behind the arc. 
 
Northwestern went on a 16-0 run deep into the first half to go up 35-20 with three minutes to play in the half. Nance had six points during the run, while Kopp added five. The Houston, Texas, native led the scoring brigade in the first frame, scoring 13 of Northwestern's 37. The Wildcats shot 6-for-11 from behind the three-point line. It was the first time this season NU has hit more than five three-pointers in a half.
 
The Wildcats continued to stay ahead throughout the second half, outscoring the Eagles, 45-37, in the stanza and finished the game on an 8-0 run. 
 
Tonight's game brings Northwestern to 4-1 in their last five B1G/ACC Challenge games and 10-11 all-time. 
 
Northwestern travels to West Lafayette on Sunday, Dec. 8, to battle the Purdue Boilermakers in the Big Ten opener. Tip is set for 4 p.m. CT.
