EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern fell to Hartford, 67-66, on Sunday at Welsh-Ryan Arena after a late layup gave the visitors the lead with less than two seconds left.

Northwestern trailed by six at the half but stormed back in the second frame to take a five point lead in the final minutes.

Sophomore guard Miller Kopp led all scorers with 24 points on an efficient 9-15 line from the field. Kopp scored 20+ points for the second straight contest.

First year guard Boo Buie added 14 points, six assists and five rebounds and redshirt first year center Ryan Young added 14 points and six rebounds.

Northwestern forced 15 turnovers and committed just five. The Wildcats also secured eight offensive rebounds compared to just one for the visitors.

The 'Cats will face Big Ten opposition the rest of the season, starting next Sunday at Minnesota. Tip-off on the road is set for 6:30 p.m. on BTN.
