Bratholm and Brookes named Gopher Invite Main Draw Champions

Minneapolis, Minn. – Junior Nick Brookes and Sophomore Simen Bratholm were named the 2019 Ski-U-Mah (Main Draw) Draw Champions after defeating Wisconsin's Scully and Soha, 7-6 Sunday afternoon at the 2019 Gopher Invite hosted by Minnesota.
The doubles team of junior AJ Joshi and first-year Natan Spear also earned runner-up honors in the Marron & Gold Draw after falling to Minnesota's Dobbs and Heap.
Over three days of play, the 'Cats tallied a total of 11 singles wins with Brookes going a perfect 5-0 in singles play and the doubles team of Brookes/Bratholm also going undefeated in all three matches. In doubles match-ups, the Wildcats total seven wins over 11 matches.
This tournament wraps up the fall slate for Northwestern men's tennis. The 'Cats will be back on the court when they begin their winter/spring schedule when they host Illinois State on January 15 at 6 pm at the Combe Tennis Center.
