Wildcats Set to Host Wisconsin on Sunday

EVANSTON, Ill. – The Wildcats [10-7, 3-3 Big Ten] return to the new Welsh-Ryan Arena on Sunday, Jan. 20 to take on the Wisconsin Badgers [10-8, 1-5 Big Ten]. Tip off is set for 3:30 p.m. CT.
Northwestern enters the matchup coming off a 75-69 win over the No. 25 Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington, handing the Hoosiers their first home loss of the season. The 'Cats were paced by sophomore Lindsey Pulliam who led all scorers with a season-high 27 points. Pulliam ranks third in the Big Ten in scoring during conference play, averaging 19.2 points per game.
Senior Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah recorded her 30thcareer double-double and ninth of the season, tallying 11 points and 11 rebounds. She now has the second most double-doubles in the conference in addition to recording the second most rebounds per game during conference play with 10.5.
The Wildcats also benefited from a career night from first year Veronica Burton who added 19 points with five three-pointers made.
The 'Cats continued their impressive play on the defensive side of the ball. They held Indiana to just 30 percent from the floor in the first half, building an 11-point lead by halftime.
Northwestern ranks in the top four in the Big Ten in field goal percentage defense (.370) as well as points (58.8), blocked shots (5.1) and steals (9.5) per game.
Chicago's Big Ten Team has won 10 of the last 11 contests against Wisconsin, including five in a row in Welsh-Ryan Arena.
