Kunaiyi-Akpanah Records Season High In Win Over Wisconsin, 72-46

EVANSTON, Il. - Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah recorded a season high 21 points and secured her tenth double-double of the season with 15 rebounds as the Northwestern Wildcats (11-7, 4-3 Big Ten) took down the Wisconsin Badgers, 72-46 Sunday afternoon at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
The Wildcats dominated the defensive side of the ball throughout the game, forcing the Badgers into 13 turnovers and 24.6 percent shooting from the field. The 'Cats first half included holding the Badgers scoreless for almost nine-minutes and only allowed the Badgers to score just two points in the second quarter, the least amount of points scored in a quarter by a Wildcat opponent since quarters were implemented in 2015.
Sophomore Lindsey Pulliam went 11-for-12 at the line and continued her hot shooting streak, posting 21 points for her 17th straight game with double-digits and her sixth game of the season with 20-plus points.
Jordan Hamilton dropped 11 points and dished out four assists, giving the Wildcats three double-digit scorers for the 12th time this season.
Bryana Hopkins led the team with six assists, a new career high for the junior forward.
Northwestern's 26 point win is the largest margin of victory the Wildcats' have had against a Big Ten opponent this year.
The Wildcats return to action Thursday, Jan, 24 as they begin a two-game road stretch to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Lincoln, Nebraska. The game is set to tip at 7 p.m. CT.
