EVANSTON, Ill. – The Northwestern fencing team returns to duals competition this Sunday, January 13th, for the Western Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The Wildcats will square off against host Air Force, Brandeis, Cal Tech, Florida, Incarnate Word, Stanford, and UC San Diego. There will be nine 5-point bouts per weapon, with three fencers from each school.

First-year Robyn Song (Div. 1 Sabre) also placed in the top-32 overall in their respective events at the USA Fencing NAC while Senior Ella Lombard (Div. 1 Épée) and Sophomore Alexis Browne (Junior Women's Sabre) placed in the top-16 .
In international competition, Julia Falinska placed 33rd overall in the Junior World Cup event in Burgos, Spain in December. The Warsaw, Poland native posted a perfect 6-0 record in pool play before going 1-1 in direct elimination.
Last season, the #B1GCats swept all seven of its Western Invitational opponents, including a decisive 18-9 victory over host Stanford in Palo Alto.
