Lumsden Set For 2018 World Amateur Team Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. — Rising senior Ryan Lumsden is set to compete for Team Scotland in this year's World Amateur Team Championships.

The biennial event is hosted this year at the Carton House Golf Club in Ireland. Lumsden, alongside Sandy Scott (Texas Tech) and Euan Walker (Missouri) will compete for Team Scotland for the coveted Eisenhower Trophy, September 5-8.
 
The Championships are a 72-hole stroke play stroke play competition with the two best scores each day counting toward the team score.
 
Lumsden, the top-ranked amateur Scot in the world, is joining a crop of esteemed Wildcats who have participated in the World Amateur Team Championships.
 
Luke Donald was on a champion Team England squad in 2000 and also competed in 1998. Two former 'Cats were three-time participants in the event, as Scott Rowe played in 1990, 1992, and 1994 for Team Hong Kong, while Dom Boulet competed in 1984, 1986, and 1988, also for Team Hong Kong.
