Windon Memorial Classic Guide

EVANSTON, Ill. — The Northwestern men's golf team will host the 22nd version of the Windon Memorial Classic, starting on Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Knollwood Club in Lake Forest, Illinois.

The Knollwood Club — one of the premier golf courses in the Chicagoland area — previously hosted the Windon in 2000 and in 2013.

The field features highly-ranked squads, including Army, Eastern Michigan, Indiana, Iowa State, Marquette, Memphis, Michigan, Michigan State, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue, South Florida, Southern Illinois, UC Davis, UCLA, and UNCG.

The teams will play two rounds on Sunday and one on Monday. First round shotgun start will begin at 8:45 a.m. CT with the second round to follow. Third round tee times will begin at 8 a.m.

PRIOR RETURNS
Northwestern posted a phenomenal season in 2017-18, finishing in 16th place at the 2018 NCAA Championships in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

WINDON WINNING
The Wildcats have won the Windon Memorial Classic five times, the most of any team in the tournament's 21-year history. The 'Cats tied for first place last season with a 5-under performance.

UPDATES REQUESTED, UPDATES DELIVERED
Despite losing Dylan Wu (second-best career scoring average in NU history) to graduation, Northwestern still retains the talents of senior Ryan Lumsden

The London, England, native owned a 72.4 stroke average in 2017-19, and also maintains the third-best career average in Wildcat history. He led the squad last season with his low round of 66, five top-10 finishes, and five rounds in the 60s.

He is coming off a busy summer, competing as an amateur in the U.S. Open, the Nordea Masters, and participating in the World Amateur Team Championships, representing Team Scotland.

WELCOME HOME!
Northwestern is welcoming the addition of three international talents to the squad this season as David Nyfjäll (Sweden), Lucas Becht (Belgium), and Yannick Artigolle (Hong Kong) have joined the program.

FORE(CAST)
Weather is shaping up to be impeccable for the Windon Memorial. Sunday's high is 69 degrees with a low of 56 degrees. Monday will be mostly sunny with a high of 73 degrees and a low of 63 degrees with 10 mph SE winds.
