2018 NCAA Championships Psych Sheets
EVANSTON, Ill. – Junior Olivia Rosendahl and first year Calypso Sheridan will represent Northwestern at the 2018 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships March 14-17 in Columbus, Ohio.
Rosendahl will compete in all three diving events, while Sheridan will swim in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 breast.
Rosendahl is making her third trip to the NCAA Championships. Last year she became the first-ever Northwestern diver to win a national championship when she claimed the gold medal in the platform. She also finished eighth in the 3-meter event. She looks to add to her long list of accolades at the NCAA Championships, including two All-American recognitions in the platform (2016, '17) and one in the three meter (2017).
Rosendahl is fresh off impressive performances at the Big Ten and NCAA Zone C Championships. After winning the 3-meter with a school-record 389.95, she was named Co-Diver of the Big Ten Championships. She also finished second in the platform and fourth in the 1-meter. At the NCAA Zone C Championships, Rosendahl finished second in the 1-meter, third in the 3-meter, and added an exclamation point by winning the platform.
Sheridan has been stellar in her first year at Northwestern, posting 18 first-place finishes throughout the season. She continued to impress at the Big Ten Championships, setting school records in the 200 IM (1:57.60) and 200 breast (2:08.80). She finished 10th in the 200 IM, ninth in the 200 breast, in addition to recording a seventh-place finish in the 400 IM. Sheridan is seeded 20th in the 200 breast, 29th in the 400 IM and 51st in the 200 IM.
Competitors that finish in the top eight of the morning trials will advance to the championship final and earn All-American honors, while those finishing 9th-16th will advance to the consolation final and earn honorable mention All-American honors.
The finals sessions on Friday will be covered live by ESPNU, while Saturday's finals sessions will be streamed online by ESPN3.com. All other sessions will be streamed live on NCAA.com, where live results will also be available.
