EVANSTON, Ill. — Winners of four of its last five games, Northwestern head back out on the road Saturday when it travels to Maryland. Tip time is set for 11 a.m. Central.
The Wildcats (15-10, 6-6 B1G) are coming off a 61-52 home win over 20th-ranked Michigan on Tuesday. Bryant McIntosh matched a season high with 24 points, while Scottie Lindsey added 19 as the 'Cats limited the Wolverines to five field goals and 20 points in the second half.
The Wildcats have held each of their last three opponents under 60 points. It's the first time NU has kept three straight Big Ten foes under 60 since the 2013-14 season, the first for Chris Collins as head coach.
Northwestern is in the midst of a stretch during which it's playing five out of six games on the road.
NU's senior class of Scottie Lindsey, Bryant McIntosh and Gavin Skelly has compiled 74 career wins, two shy of the school record of 76 held by the class of 2012.
Northwestern won the most recent meeting with Maryland, topping the 25th-ranked Terrapins, 72-64, March 10, 2017 in the quarterfinal round of the Big Ten tournament in Washington, D.C.
The Wildcats have dropped heartbreakers in each of their two previous visits to College Park, falling 68-67 Jan. 25, 2015 and 62-56 in overtime Jan. 19, 2016.
Scouting Maryland
The Terrapins (16-10, 5-8 B1G) have dropped six of their last eight games including a 74-70 loss at Penn State on Wednesday. Anthony Cowan led five Maryland players in double figures with 15 points.
