EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern plays its first home game in 16 days Tuesday when it takes on No. 20/20 Michigan at Allstate Arena in Rosemont. Tip time is set for 6 p.m.
Tuesday's matchup is Northwestern's lone home contest in a stretch during which it plays five games away from home over a six-game span. NU went 2-1 over its recent three-game road swing.
Northwestern is facing Michigan for the second time over a three-game span. It's the first time NU is facing the same school twice in a span of three regular-season games since taking on Ohio State Jan. 17 and 24, 2007. The Wolverines won the first matchup between the teams, 58-47, last Monday in Ann Arbor.
Northwestern is coming off a 60-52 victory at Wisconsin last Tuesday. Dererk Pardon went a perfect 8-for-8 from the field in scoring a game-high 17 points as the Wildcats won in Madison for the third time in their last four visits.
Pardon ranks third in the Big Ten with a .633 field goal percentage this season and is NU's all-time leader with a .627 career field goal percentage. The career mark ranks seventh in the nation among all active Division I players. His performance vs. Wisconsin was Northwestern's first perfect effort from the field with at least seven attempts since Vince Scott went 7-for-7 against Loyola (Md.) Dec. 27, 2006.
Northwestern has won the last two games it has hosted against Michigan. The 'Cats won 67-65 March 1, 2017 on Dererk Pardon's dramatic buzzer-beater and topped the Wolverines 82-78 in double overtime March 3, 2015 thanks to multiple late heroics by Tre Demps.
Scouting Michigan

Moritz Wagner (16 pts, 10 reb) and Charles Matthews (13 pts, 11 reb) both contributed double-doubles. Matthews leads the team with an average of 14.4 points per game while Wagner contributes 14.1 points and a team-best 7.1 rebounds per contest.
