EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern wraps up a stretch of five road games over a six-game span Tuesday when it travels to Rutgers for its penultimate road game of the 2017-18 regular season. Tip time is set for 8 p.m. Central.
Northwestern won all three meetings with Rutgers a year ago, including setting a pair of records. The 'Cats matched a Big Ten record with 15 blocked shots in the team's 69-60 win Jan. 12 in Piscataway. In an 83-61 victory March 9 in the Big Ten tournament, NU scored a Big Ten-record 31 consecutive points during the first half.
Northwestern is a perfect 5-0 against Rutgers since the Scarlet Knights joined the Big Ten and leads the overall series, 9-1.
The Wildcats are coming off a 73-57 loss at Maryland on Saturday. Despite getting 20 points from Scottie Lindsey, Northwestern was unable to overcome 33.3 percent shooting from the field and a fast start by the Terrapins.
NU's senior class of Lindsey, Bryant McIntosh and Gavin Skelly is closing in on history having compiled 74 career wins. The total is two wins shy of the school record of 76 held by the class of 2012.
Following Tuesday night's matchup, the Wildcats will begin a stretch of three straight home games beginning with a contest against No. 2/1 Michigan State on Saturday. Tickets for all remaining Northwestern home games are on sale at NUsports.com or by calling 888-GO-PURPLE.

Rutgers ranks first in the Big Ten in offensive rebounding (13.6 pg) and second in scoring defense (63.9 ppg).
