EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern basketball will host the American Eagles in the new Welsh-Ryan Arena at 7 p.m. on Monday night.
The Wildcats seek to move to 2-0 after defeating New Orleans, 82-52, in their season opener on Thursday. In the contest, forward Vic Law became the 36th player in program history to record 1,000 career points. The fifth-year senior finished with 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Graduate transfer guard Ryan Taylor scored a game-high 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting while hitting a career-high six threes — the most ever for a Wildcat in their NU debut. Center Dererk Pardon and forward A.J. Turner joined Law and Taylor in double-figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Northwestern defeated American in the only time the two teams met, back in the 2010-11 season, by a score of 78-62 in Evanston. A win would give the Wildcats a 2-0 start for the ninth-straight year.
