Nyfjall earns second Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor

EVANSTON, Ill. — First-year David Nyfjäll was named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week, the Conference announced Wednesday. This is his second Big Ten weekly honor this season.
With a 5-under, 211 score at the UNCG/Grandover Collegiate, Oct. 27-28, Nyfjäll earned his second-consecutive individual medal in his four collegiate events. The Uppsala, Sweden native started the final round of the UNCG/Grandover Collegiate with a six shot deficit. After an outstanding front nine with three birdies in a row, he was tied for first and later took the lone lead on the 14th hole. The final round was his lowest score of the weekend, shooting a 69.
With the honor, Northwestern golfers have earned four of eight weekly Big Ten honors this season, as senior Ryan Lumsden has also added two weekly nods.
Northwestern is back in action Feb. 8-9, 2019 at Big Ten Match Play in Palm Coast, Fla.
