EVANSTON, Ill. -- No. 14 Northwestern steps outside league play for a rare midweek home match as it takes on No. 15 Louisville at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeside Field.
The Wildcats (5-3, 1-0 B1G) are riding a three-match winning streak and are wrapping up a four-game homestand.
NU is coming off a dramatic 3-2 overtime win over Ohio State on Friday with Eva van Agt tallying the game-winner halfway through the first extra session. Lily Katzman contributed her first two goals of the season for the Wildcats.
Saar de Breij and van Agt pace Northwestern with three goals apiece this season, while Puck Pentenga is first on the team with six assists and 10 points. Seven different Wildcats have scored at least two goals through the team's first eight contests.
In goal, Annie Kalfas sports a 1.45 goals-against average with a .831 save percentage and a pair of shutouts to her credit.
Meanwhile, Louisville brings a 4-3 record into Tuesday's contest. The Cardinals are coming off consecutive losses to ranked teams, falling 1-0 to No. 11 Maryland and 5-0 to No. 4 Duke. Nicole Woods leads the team with four goals. Hollyn Barr (1.12 gaa, .773 save percentage) and Ayeisha McFerran (2.62 gaa, .650 save percentage) have split time in goal for the Cardinals.
Northwestern and Louisville have three common opponents this season. The Wildcats defeated Kent State, 2-1, while the Cardinals topped the Golden Flashes, 5-1. Each team fell to Duke (NU, 1-0; Louisville, 5-0), while the 'Cats defeated Ohio State, 3-2, and the Cardinals fell, 2-1 in overtime.
