Men's Golf Named GCAA All-Academic Team

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern men's golf has been named an All-Academic team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced this week.
The Wildcats earned the distinction for a team grade-point average above 3.0 for the 2016-17 academic year.
This award is one of several academic commendations the men's golf team has received this season. In May, five golfers — Pete Griffith, Ryan Lumsden, Luke Miller, Sam Triplett, and Dylan Wu — were named to the Academic All-Big Ten team, while Conor Richardson was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, thanks to his GPA above the 3.7 threshold.
The Wildcats paired their academic success with strong play on the course this season. The team finished in second place at the Big Ten Championships, while Dylan Wu and Ryan Lumsden were named to the All-Big Ten First Team.

"I'm proud of our players for their performance in the classroom," head coach David Inglis said. "Attending one of the elite universities in the nation, they know they have to work hard in the classroom and our guys face that challenge head on."
