EVANSTON, Ill. –
Northwestern looks to continue its winning ways at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Tuesday when it hosts Illinois. Tip time is set for 7 p.m.

Northwestern has a 30-5 record in its last 35 home games at Welsh-Ryan Arena dating back to the 2014-15 campaign. The Wildcats are 12-1 on their home court this season.

At 18-5, Northwestern is off to its best 23-game start to a season in school history. The team's 7-3 mark in Big Ten play is its best through 10 games since the 1945-46 team also started 7-3.

The Wildcats saw their six-game Big Ten winning streak—their longest since 1933—snapped in an 80-59 loss at No. 23 Purdue last Wednesday, Feb. 1. NU was led by a 22-point effort by Bryant McIntosh but the 'Cats only had eight scholarship players available for action and couldn't overcome nine first-half 3-pointers by the hot-shooting Boilermakers.

The Wildcats lead the Big Ten and rank 11th nationally with a .378 opponents field goal percentage. NU's .318 3-point field goal percentage defense ranks second in the Big Ten to only Minnesota (.303).

Northwestern is two victories shy of matching its school record for wins in a regular season (20), set a year ago.

Northwestern and Illinois have split their last 12 meetings going back to the 2009-10 season. The Wildcats won the only meeting between the schools a year ago, notching a 58-56 victory Feb. 13 in Evanston. Tre Demps and Scottie Lindsey led Northwestern with 18 points apiece.

Scouting Illinois
The Fighting Illini (13-11, 3-8 B1G) has dropped six of its last seven contests including a 68-59 home defeat at the hands of Minnesota on Saturday. Kipper Nichols led Illinois with 16 points of the bench while Maverick Morgan had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Malcolm Hill paces the team and ranks sixth in the Big Ten with an average of 17.0 points per game. Morgan is sixth in the league with a .579 field goal percentage.
