ROSEMONT, Ill. --
Bryant McIntosh finished with a career-high six three pointers that helped account for 24 points, tying his season high, to go with a game-high seven assists as Northwestern (9-4, 1-1 Big Ten) cruised to its fourth consecutive victory in eight days as they topped Lewis, 85-48, on Tuesday night at Allstate Arena.

McIntosh finished the night shooting eight-of-14 from the field and six-of-11 from behind the arc. Joining McIntosh in double figures was Gavin Skelly, who finished the game with 15 points while shooting a perfect five-of-five from the field. Dererk Pardon added 12 points of his own on five-of-seven shooting.

Northwestern shot 45.8 percent from the field on 27-of-59 shooting and knocked down 11 of its 31 three-point attempts. The Wildcats have now hit at least 11 three-pointers in each of their last four games.

On defense, the Wildcats stifled the Flyers all night as they held Lewis to 31.3 percent shooting (15-of-48) on the night and three-of-17 from deep. The #B1GCats entered the game forcing an average of 17.9 turnovers over the last seven contests and carried that strong play over into Tuesday's game as they forced 17 turnovers on the night, converting that into 34 points off turnovers on the other end.

After a slow start in the game's opening minutes, the Wildcats mounted a 9-0 run to take the lead — which they did not relinquish for the rest of the game. During that stretch, Northwestern held Lewis scoreless for over four minutes.

Northwestern continued to ramp up its defensive efforts as it held the Flyers without a field goal for over six minutes late in the first half as it continued to build upon its lead. With 1:13 remaining, McIntosh knocked down a triple, his fourth of the half, to put the Wildcats up by 32, their largest lead of the first 20 minutes.

The Wildcats eventually took a 49-22 lead into halftime. McIntosh led all players with 16 points and five assists. Scottie Lindsey chipped in with nine points and three rebounds, while Pardon and Skelly each added eight points.

Northwestern shot 50.0 percent (16-of-32) from the field in the first half while holding Lewis to 36.8 percent shooting (7-of-19) in the opening half. The Wildcats held the Flyers to just one three-pointer in the half, while converting on six-of-17 of their own looks from behind the arc.

The 'Cats also forced 11 turnovers in the first half and made the most out of those opportunities as they finished the half with 26 points off turnovers. On the other end, the Wildcats did a great job moving the ball around as they assisted on 12 of their 16 field goals in the half.

Northwestern kept its foot on the gas pedal as it outscored Lewis, 36-26, in the second half. McIntosh finished with eight points in the half, while Skelly chipped in with seven of his own. Anthony Gaines and Aaron Falzon each added six points in the half, while Charlie Hall scored his first career point in the game's final minutes to put the finishing touches on a 85-48 win for Northwestern.

Chicago's Big Ten Team returns to action this Friday, Dec. 22, when it travels to Norman, Oklahoma, to take on No. 17 Oklahoma for a tough non-conference test. Tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT, with the action televised on ESPN2.

Northwestern Notes vs. Lewis – Dec. 19, 2017
• This was the fifth regular-season meeting between the schools but the first in 103 years. The most recent regular-season matchup was a 44-19 win by Northwestern Dec. 16, 1914.
• Northwestern leads the all-time series between the schools, 5-0.
• Northwestern and Lewis had met in an exhibition game Nov. 6, 2013 that was won by the Wildcats, 57-46. It was the first game coached by current Northwestern head coach Chris Collins.
• In allowing only 48 points, NU has now allowed 60 points or fewer in five of its last seven games.
• After failing to score in double figures in each of the last four games, Bryant McIntosh scored 16 in the first half alone and finished with a game-high 24 points. The total matches his season high previously achieved against La Salle Nov. 18. It is the 22nd 20-point game of his career.
• McIntosh tied a career high six 3-pointers. His previous high was five triples against Columbia Nov. 20, 2015.
• McIntosh recorded 7 assists in the game, raising his career total to 628 and bringing him within five of Indiana's Yogi Ferrell for 11th place in Big Ten history.
Gavin Skelly came off the bench to score a season-high 15 points. His previous high was 14 in a starting role against both Saint Peter's Nov. 13 and Creighton Nov. 17.
• Skelly's 5-for-5 effort from the field is the first perfect shooting performance by a Wildcat with at least five attempts since JerShon Cobb went 5-for-5 at Michigan State Jan. 11, 2015.
Isiah Brown recorded a career-high 6 assists. His previous high was 4 on two occasions.
• Scottie Lindsey scored 9 points and is now just 10 points shy of becoming the 35th player in school history to score 1,000 career points.
• The Wildcats came into the game forcing an average of 17.9 turnovers per game over the previous seven contests and forced 17 by Lewis on Tuesday. NU finished the game with a 34-5 advantage in points off turnovers.
• Northwestern redshirt junior forward Vic Law did not play due to an injury suffered in the game against DePaul last Saturday.
