EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern is back at home after a two-game road trip as it gets ready to host Wisconsin on Wednesday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
The Wildcats [16-5, 5-3] are coming off a decisive 18-point win at Rutgers and will look to keep the momentum going against the Badgers [5-16, 0-8]. Northwestern is receiving votes in the latest AP poll.
Tip is set for 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on BTN Plus, and WNUR will have the call on radio. Live stats will be available via Sidearm. Links for all can be found in the table at the top of the page.
SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday will mark the 68th all-time meeting between Northwestern and Wisconsin. The Wildcats hold an 18-13 advantage in games played in Evanston and have a 36-31 lead in the all-time series. Northwestern is currently on a six-game winning streak in the series dating back to 2013 and has won the last three at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
BLOCK PARTY
Northwestern ranks ninth in the country and first in the Big Ten in blocks per game with 6.0. The Wildcats have registered double-digit blocks twice and have had six or more on 11 different occasions, including most recently at Michigan. Nia Coffey leads the team with 32 blocks, and Lauren Douglas is not far behind with 30. Thirteen Wildcats have registered at least one block this year.
AN HISTORIC CAREER
Northwestern head coach Joe McKeown picked up career win No. 650 on Dec. 28 in the Wildcats' Big Ten opener at Nebraska. He is now at 654 after the Wildcats' beat Rutgers on Jan. 29. 145 of those wins have come at Northwestern during his eight-plus years as head coach. He also has stops at New Mexico State and George Washington. McKeown has a career winning percentage of .682 in 31 seasons as a head coach.
