Lindsey Tabbed Big Ten Player of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern junior guard Scottie Lindsey is the Big Ten Men's Basketball Player of the Week as announced by the Conference office Monday. It is the first such honor of his career.
Lindsey averaged 18.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game in leading the Wildcats (15-4, 4-2 B1G) to a pair of victories.
In Thursday's win at Rutgers, Lindsey scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half to help lead the Wildcats to the comeback victory, their third on the road already this Big Ten season. Lindsey also contributed 7 rebounds in the contest.
In Sunday's historic win over Iowa, he posted a game-high 22 points to go along with 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals as NU posted a 35-point win over Iowa, the school's largest margin of victory ever over the Hawkeyes.
Lindsey leads Northwestern and ranks seventh in the Big Ten with an average of 15.8 points per game. His average goes up to 17.8 points per contest in conference play, ranking him fourth. Lindsey's .889 free throw percentage is the fourth-best mark in the league.
He has scored in double figures in each of the Wildcats' 19 games this season, the longest such streak since John Shurna scored 10 or more points in 22 straight contests during the 2011-12 season. It's the longest streak to start a season by a Wildcat since Evan Eschmeyer scored in double figures in 24 consecutive games to open the 1998-99 campaign.
Northwestern returns to action at noon Central time Sunday when it travels to Ohio State.
