EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern will look to bounce back from their season-opening loss when it hosts Illinois State on Heroes Day Saturday at Ryan Field.
The Wildcats and Redbirds will kickoff at 2:36 p.m. CT Saturday on the Big Ten Network with Brandon Gaudin and Jim Miller. As always, the game will also be broadcast on WGN 720 with the voice of the Wildcats Dave Eanet, his partner Ted Albrecth and Adam Hoge on the sideline.

THE OPENER
The Redbirds opened the 2016 campaign with an impressive 50-13 win over Valparaiso behind 271 rushing yards to the Crusaders' 21. George Moreira led the Redbirds with 93 yards and a touchdown on seven carries, while DeMarco Corbin scored a pair of touchdowns on the ground.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Anthony Warrum had a breakout season in 2015 and looks to improve on those numbers in 2016. The Fishers, Indiana, native earned third-team All-America honors last season, after setting a single-season record and leading the MVFC with 15 receiving touchdowns. Warrum also ranked second in the league with 1,290 yards on 58 receptions and recorded over 100 yards receiving in six contests, including the last two games of the season with a career-best nine receptions in the FCS quarterfinal loss to Richmond.
LAST TIME THEY MET
The Wildcats scored 30 first-half points en route to a 37-3 victory at Ryan Field on Sept. 11, 2010. Dan Persa completed 19-of-23 passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns and added a touchdown on the ground to lead the 'Cats.
