Wildcats Conclude Day Two at Fighting Illini Invite

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Northwestern finished the second round of the Fighting Illini Invitational on Saturday afternoon with a 16-over 296 at Olympia Fields CC to leave them tied for 13^th place.

Host and third-ranked Illinois maintained its grip in first place after firing even par on day two.

Junior Dylan Wu finished the day tied for 10^th place overall in the individual standings after carding 3-over 73. Wu birdied two holes in the second round, both on the front nine, and stands six strokes off of first place.

Fifth-year senior Andrew Whalen carded the low round for the #B1GCats in Saturday's round, firing 1-over 71 to rise up the leaderboard among the fields top 36.

The Wildcats will close out the final round of the Fighting Illini Invitational tomorrow Sept. 18 at 9:30 a.m. CT.
