LIVE RESULTS

EVANSTON, Ill. —
The Northwestern women's swimming and diving program will get an early-season test when it heads south to Kentucky for the UK Quad Meet Friday and Saturday.

Two of the squads in the quad meet are ranked in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) NCAA Division I Coaches' Poll, as the host Kentucky Wildcats are No. 18 and Missouri is slated at No. 17. Southern Illinois will be the fourth team competing at the meet and has one common opponent with Chicago's Big Ten Team in Illinois. The Salukies fell to the Fighting Illini, 178-103, while NU recently beat their in-state rival last Saturday, 178-122.

Northwestern's men's team will also be competing in the UK Quad Meet.

Friday's events will include men's and women's 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events, 200 free relay, 200 IM, 500 free, 100 breast, 200 back, 100 free, 200 fly and 400 medley relay. Competition will resume Saturday morning with platform dive, 200 medley relay, 1000 free, 50 free, 100 back, 200 breast, 100 fly, 200 free, 400 IM and 400 free relay.

#B1GCATS OFF TO A 5-0 START
The Wildcats enter the weekend with a perfect 5-0 record, including wins over Chicago, Olivet Nazarene, UIC, Illinois and Rutgers. The 'Cats have dominated in the freestyle events, winning all five races in each of their two meets this season.

MAKING A SPLASH
Freshman Valerie Gruest Slowing, who competed in the 400 and 800 free at the 2016 Rio Olympics, is off to a hot start with six wins in her first two meets. Gruest Slowing set a Myers-McLoraine Pool record and swam the eighth-fastest time in school history in the 1,000 free in collegiate debut. The time of 10:01.06 currently ranks 24th in the country. She went on to win the 200 fly and 200 back in her opening meet and again went 3-for-3 last weekend in a Big Ten Triple Dual versus Illinois and Rutgers with wins in the 1,000 free, 200 free and 500 free.

BACK ON THE PLATFORM
Sophomore Olivia Rosendahl became the first Northwestern diver to earn All-America honors with a fourth-place finish on the platform at the NCAA Championships last season. Rosendahl won the platform at the AT&T National Championships over the summer and will have the opportunity to compete in the event for the first time this season on Saturday. The Los Angeles, California, native has won the 1M twice this season and claimed the 3M in the season opener to earn Big Ten Diver of the Week honors.

LOCKE IT IN
Senior Lacey Locke has led the way in the 100 back by winning the event in each of the Wildcats' first two meets. Locke holds the second-fastest time in school history in the event with a 56.04 at the 2016 Big Ten Championships. She ranks fifth in school history in the 200 back.
