Northwestern Travels to UCF for Non-Conference Clash

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern will take a break from Big Ten Conference play and travel to Orlando, Florida, for a non-conference tilt against the University of Central Florida on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. CT.
The action between the Wildcats and the Knights will be streamed online here, while fans can also follow along with live stats.
Northwestern (2-7-1) enters Wednesday's contest coming off a loss to No. 1 Maryland (Sept. 30) last time out. The #B1GCats are led on the offensive end by senior captain Brandon Media, who has a pair of goals and an assist in eight matches.
Fellow senior captain Nathan Dearth has been effective in the offensive third lately, tallying a goal and two assists in two of the Wildcats' last three games.
In net, Francisco Tomasino has made 35 saves in his nine outings and boasts a conference-best 3.90 saves per game average.
UCF (2-5) is led by Matias Pyysalo's five goals and two assists (12 points) this season, while Richard Amon has accounted for three goals and an assist (seven points).
Matt Rosenberg has seen the majority of action in net this season and has a 1.67 goals-against average with nine saves.
The only prior meeting between UCF and Northwestern came last year when the Wildcats took a 1-0 victory at Toyota Park thanks to a Jake Roberge header in the 81st minute.
Northwestern will return home following the contest with UCF to host crosstown-foe UIC on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. CT.
