
'Cats Are Back to Big Ten Play, Travel to Rutgers

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will be back on the road as they travel to Piscataway, N.J., to face off against Rutgers on Friday, Oct. 14 at 5 p.m. CT

LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats [2-9-1, 1-3-1 B1G] are looking to rebound after a shutout to UIC in non-conference play. Redshirt freshman Braden Thurasingham made his first career start in goal and kept it scoreless early with two saves and three punches. The offense had several looks at the goal and outshot the Flames, 12-5, in the second half.
SERIES HISTORY
Northwestern and Rutgers have been matched up three times since Rutgers joined the Big Ten Conference in 2014. The Wildcats won the first matchup 2-0, but lost in the last two games in 2015. Rutgers took the victories during the regular season and in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament.
THE OPPONENT
Rutgers [0-9-2, 0-4-2 B1G] enters this match coming off a 4-1 loss to in-state rivals Princeton. The Scarlet Knights are looking for their first win on Friday night.
