'Cats Host UIC in Crosstown Showdown

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern will be back in action Tuesday night when it hosts crosstown-foe UIC for a 7 p.m. CT contest at Martin Stadium.
Tuesday's game is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Night at Martin Stadium. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to receive a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle mask and the first 50 fans in attendance will receive a coupon for a free Papa John's pizza.
Northwestern (2-8-1) dropped a 1-0 decision at UCF last time out. The Wildcats surrendered the game's lone goal in the 73rd minute. Junior Francisco Tomasino tallied a career-high eight saves in the effort.
Senior Brandon Medina paces the team with five points on two goals and an assist. Four different Wildcats have tallied four points, including Nathan Dearth (1g, 2a) Elo Ozumba (2g), Mike Roberge (1g, 2a) and Jeffrey Hopson (2g).
UIC (4-5-3) enter the match against Northwestern riding a five-game unbeaten streak. Most recently, UIC played Detroit (Oct. 8) to a 2-2 draw at Flames Field.
As a team, UIC has scored 24 goals this season. Jorge Alvvarez and Manny Chavez have each recorded five goals to lead the team. Andrew Putna owns a 0.92 goals against average with 47 saves.
Northwestern pulled off a 2-1 double-overtime win on the road against the Flames last season. Ozumba scored the game-winning goal in the 104th minute.
