EASTERN ILLINOIS NOTES
• Eastern Illinois has produced several notable NFL names. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo played at EIU from 1999-2002 and New England Patriots QB Jimmy Garapolo was a Panther from 2010-13. Current New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton quarterbacked Eastern Illinois from 1982-86.

• Eastern Illinois has made 15 postseason appearances since 1981, the most of any school from the state of Illinois. EIU's all-time FCS playoff record is 4-15. By comparison, Northwestern has been to the postseason eight times during that stretch.

• 41 student-athletes on the Panther roster hail from the state of Illinois. Northwestern has 27 Illinoisans on the roster but draws heavily from other states as well with 18 student-athletes from Ohio and 11 from Texas. No other state produces double-digit student-athletes for Eastern Illinois.

• Saturday's meeting marks only the second-ever between the two programs. The only prior meeting took place in 2011 at Ryan Field. Northwestern walked away with a 42-21 victory.
