EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern will kick off its 128th season of intercollegiate competition against No. 21 Stanford Saturday at Ryan Field. The meeting is the first between the two programs since 1994.
The Wildcats and Cardinal will kickoff immediately following ESPN College Gameday as the first game of the network's Saturday schedule. Fans can also choose to watch the game online or on their mobile devices via WatchESPN. On the radio, the game can be found WGN 720 with the veteran tandem of Dave Eanet and Ted Albrecth in the Ryan Field radio booth and Adam Hoge on the sideline

STANFORD NOTES
• Winner of its last three games to close the 2014 campaign, including a 42-21 rout of Maryland in the Foster Farms Bowl, Stanford will christen its season on the road for the first time since 2009 (a 39-13 win at Washington State on Sept. 5).
• Stanford is 4-5-1 in its last 10 true road games to open a season. The Cardinal's last win on the road -- while ranked -- to open a season came Sept. 6, 1980, with a 35-25 victory over Oregon.
• Since Stanford's last game at Northwestern 21 years ago, the Cardinal has played contests in 13 different states (Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin) and won games in 10 of those.
