EVANSTON, Ill. — The Northwestern men's soccer program will begin a stretch of six-straight games in the Chicagoland area with non-conference matches against DePaul and SIU-Edwardsville this week.

The Wildcats will travel to local rival DePaul on Wednesday for a matinee affair against the Blue Demons at noon before hosting the Cougars at UIC's Flames Field on Saturday at 6 p.m. in a rematch of last season's NCAA Tournament first round. Chicago's Big Ten Team enters the week with a 4-4-1 record overall following a pivotal 2-1 overtime victory over No. 13 Maryland last Friday.

For the First Time
Freshman midfielder Camden Buescher and junior forward Getenet Tuji each scored their first career goal in the Wildcats' 2-1 win over No. 12 Maryland last Friday. Despite being outshot 24-4 in the contest, the 'Cats were able to come back from a 1-0 deficit on Buescher's equalizer before claiming the win in the 99th minute on Tuji's game winner.

Chicago's Big Ten Team
Northwestern will play each of its next six games in the Chicagoland area, including a pair of road games against DePaul (Wednesday) and Loyola (10/27) that sandwich four-straight home games. With construction ongoing at Lanny & Sharon Martin Stadium the 'Cats will host SIU-Edwardsville at Flames Field this Saturday before three-straight games at Toyota Park - home of Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire - against Rutgers (10/16), Notre Dame (10/20) and Michigan State (10/24).

Chasing History
Senior Joey Calistri remains four goals shy of the Northwestern program record for career goals. He is currently in third place with 29 goals and trails Jonathan Hall (30) and Matt Eliason (33). Calistri is the 'Cats' points leader this season with a pair of goals and a pair of assists.

Scouting the Blue Demons
DePaul has been outscored 18-8 this season in stumbling to a 1-9 record through its first 10 games. Despite the tough start to the season, the Blue Demons recently played No. 1-ranked Creighton tough for 90 minutes in a 1-0 loss on Oct. 3. Erik Rodriguez leads DePaul with seven points (3g, 1 a) and Seimon Megally is tied for the team lead with three goals. Quentin Low and Mack Robinson have split time between the pipes and are allowing a combined 1.77 goals-against average.

Scouting the Cougars
After knocking the Wildcats out of the NCAA Tournament a season ago, SIU-Edwardsville is off to a 5-3-1 start to the 2015 campaign with a record of 4-1-1 over its last six games. The Cougars picked up a 4-0 win over Central Arkansas on Oct. 3 and play at Butler on Tuesday, Oct. 6 before visiting the 'Cats at Flames Field. Sophomore Devyn Jambga leads the Cougars with eight points (3g, 2a) while sophomore Mohamad Awad (1g, 4a) and junior Ivan Gutierrez (2g, 2a) are tied for second with six points. Sophomore Kyle Dal Santo has played all but 45 minutes in goal this season and has a 0.34 goals against average with six shutouts.
