Wildcats Host Spartans on Senior Day

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern will play its final home game of the season Saturday when it hosts Michigan State at TOYOTA Park on Senior Day. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m. 

The Wildcats enter the match seventh in the Big Ten with six points (2-3-0), four points behind Big Ten leader Ohio State. The Spartans are just two points behind the league-leading Buckeyes as they are tied for fourth with eight points. 
 

Celebrating the Seniors
Prior to Saturday's match against Michigan State, Northwestern will honor Zak Allen (Chicago, Ill.), Layth Masri (Louisville, Ky.), Joey Calistri (Deerfield, Ill.), Sagar Jambusaria (San Clemente, Calif.), Henry Herrill (Altadena, Calif.), Mick Maley (South Elgin, Ill.), Cole Missimo (Dallas, Texas) and Nati Schnitman (Calabasas, Calif.) for their tremendous careers in purple. 

Calistri Chasing the Record
Senior Joey Calistri is now just three goals shy of tying the program record for career goals. Matt Eliason's record off 33 goals is within reach for the Deerfield, Ill., native with at least five games remaining on the schedule. Calistri leads the 'Cats this season in goals (3), assists (4), points (10), shots (24), shots on goal (11) and game-winning goals (1).

Allen's Career Day
Senior Zak Allen put together his strongest performance of the season and of his career Tuesday when he finished with a career-high 12 saves to help the Wildcats claim a 1-1 double-overtime draw against No. 8 Notre Dame. Allen had five saves in the first half and seven saves in the second half to post his first career-double digit save effort.

Scouting the Spartans
Michigan State is coming off a 4-1 loss to No. 5 Akron on Wednesday and enters the match with a record of 7-5-2. The Spartans are currently tied for fourth in the Big Ten with eight points. Ryan Sierakowski leads the Green and White with five goals and 13 points, while Jason Stacy is second on the team with eight points and leads the team with four assists. Zach Bennett has started all 14 games between the pipes for the Spartans, posting a 1.07 goals-against average and .727 save percentage in 1266:06 of play.
