EVANSTON, Ill.- Northwestern sophomore Jordan Wilimovsky (Malibu, Calif./Malibu) has been selected to the USA Swimming Open Water National Team.

The Men's National team also includes Andrew Gemmell, Alex Meyer, Joey Pedraza, Chip Peterson and Sean Ryan.

Wilimovsky, who qualified for the USA National Team with fourth-place results in both the 5K and 10K open water races at the National Championships and Team Trials in May, had a strong showing in his first 25K open water swim, in July. He finished 14th overall in the world with a time of 4:49.11.1, just 1.44.1 off the lead at the FINA World Championships.

A 2012 NCAA Championship qualifier, he holds the Northwestern mile record with a time of 14:58.80

He also finished second in both the one mile and 10K races on Grand Cayman Island from June 15 to 17, in his final open meet heading into the FINA World Championships.
