Northwestern Teams Participate in Relay For Life

Northwestern University recently took part in its annual Relay For Life event with eight Wildcat sport programs among the 68 groups participating overall.

More than 870 individuals joined in this year's efforts with the University raising more than $125,000 for the American Cancer Society.

The men's basketball program finished as the second-highest fund raiser, bringing in $9,400. Seyfarth Shaw LLP was Northwestern's top fund-raising group.

In addition to men's basketball, other Northwestern sport programs participating included women's soccer, men's soccer, football, fencing, field hockey, swimming and diving as well as the cheer squad.

The evening's opening ceremonies including a welcome and remarks from head coach Bill Carmody and the men's basketball team, as well as a game of knockout with the Wildcats.
