Northwestern Resumes Fall Schedule at UNCG Bridgestone Collegiate

EVANSTON, Ill. -- After a three-week hiatus, Northwestern resumes its fall season this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 23-24, at the sixth-annual UNCG Bridgestone Collegiate Tournament, hosted by the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.
The 14-team tournament will be held at the 7,287-yard, par-72 tract of Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. The golf course has previously hosted the PGA TOUR Greater Greensboro Open from 1977-2007 as well as the UNGC Bridgestone Collegiate Tournament since its start in 2005. The tournament will consist of 36 holes of continuous play beginning with a 7:30 a.m. CT shotgun start Saturday before teams are re-paired and assigned tee-times for Sunday's final round beginning at 7:30 CT.
The field is comprised of No. 9 Auburn, No. 30 Michigan, No. 32 Northwestern, No. 36 Charlotte, No. 39 Pepperdine, Michigan State, Kentucky, North Carolina, Mississippi State, Toledo, VCU and Virginia Tech. Rankings are the latest from Golfstat.com.
Northwestern most recently competed at its own Windon Memorial Classic at North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Ill. Through the first three tournaments of the 2010-11 season, both senior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) and junior Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) lead NU with three rounds at par or better while compiling one top-10 and one top-20 finish apiece.
