UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Freshman Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) remains in the lead at the Big Ten Championships entering Sunday's final round after firing an even-par 71 Saturday to help Northwestern jump two spots into a tie for fourth place.

Chun made three birdies and three bogies in his Saturday round to maintain a four-stroke advantage over No. 28-ranked Kevin Foley of Penn State, Matt Hoffman of Illinois and Dan Woltman of Wisconsin, who all are tied for second at even-par. Chun's 54-hole total of 4-under 209 (70-68-71) leaves him as the lone competitor in the field under par through three rounds.

As a team, NU jumped two spots Saturday to enter a three-way tie for fourth with Purdue and Minnesota at 21-over 873 (290-296-287). The trio is one shot behind third-place Iowa and two strokes in back of second-place Ohio State. No. 15 Illinois leads the tournament at 12-over 864.

Junior Jonathan Bowers (Columbus, Ohio./Bishop Watterson) is in 16th place with a 7-over 220 (73-74-73). He recovered from three bogies in the first seven holes to play the rest of his round at 1-under to finish with his Saturday total of 73.

Junior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) also fired an even-par 71 Saturday for Northwestern, making a birdie and an eagle on the par-5 ninth hole before a double bogey and eight pars on the back side gave him the 71. He is tied for 28th overall in the standings at 10-over 223 (76-76-71).

Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) also is in 28th place overall at 10-over 223 (73-78-72) after firing his best round of the tournament Saturday with a 1-over 72. He made four birdies, three bogies and one double during his third 18 holes.

Ravi Patel (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) rounds out NU's squad in 48th position with a 16-over 229 (74-79-76).

The Big Ten Championships concludes tomorrow, Sunday, May 3.
